Welcome to my 2021 newsletter.

Well 2020 didn’t go quite as planned for any of us !! I had a great looking order book at the start of March last year but as nearly all the sportives and triathlons were eventually postponed or rescheduled most bookings had to be cancelled or moved to 2021.

I actually had a busy July and August after the first lockdown was lifted and many cyclists joined the holiday exodus. However once quarantine kicked in it became impractical for most travellers to plan a further 2 weeks confined to base, so my biggest challenge in the meantime has been finding a home for my fleet of boxes and keeping the battery in my delivery van alive.

I would like to thank all of you who did use my service in 2020 which, along with a bounce back loan, has just about kept me afloat. For those of you that were not able to get away I hope that if you’re travelling with your bike this year I will be able to provide a service. Some of you already have bookings and I can assure you your bookings are still in the diary (I guess the Mallorca 312 bookings for April will need attention) and for those of you who have already booked and settled l know who you are and we’re all set for later this year.

So with the vaccination program in full swing and restrictions due to loosen in March we are all set to plan for some great cycling. The start of the Ironman season has been pushed out until June (Austria 70.3 is still showing as 23rd May, although that might be a bit optimistic), but there could be opportunities to travel for touring and training in May or even to follow the Giro d’Italia. Also if staycation is your thing then a Bike Box Alan is a safe and secure way to transport your bike in the back or on the roof of a car.

Subject to a successful vaccination program over the next few months across the continent the race schedule should look something like this:

June sees the scheduled start of the Ironman season in Europe, with Ironman 70.3 in Switzerland and Warsaw and full Ironman in Hamburg all being held on Sunday 6th. Ironman Nice has been moved to 12th September. The Ironman 70.3 Euro Championships are being held in Denmark and the full Ironman Euros in Frankfurt, both on 27th June. For those that fancy a 24 hour ride then check out the Vätternrundan in Sweden on June 18th/19th.

In July the L’Étape du Tour and Maratona take place on 4th July with the Marmotte one week earlier at the end of June. Le Tour which starts on 26th June will cycle through to the 18th July.

The Ironman European tour presses on through July, August and September with events being held nearly every weekend. Popular events with the Brits are Ironman Lanzarote, Austria and Switzerland in July, Ireland and Vichy 70.3 and full distance in August and Marbella, Italy and Aix en Provence in September.

In October there are races in Barcelona, Mallorca, Portugal, Greece, Italy plus the Mallorca 312 has now been rescheduled for 24th October.

As in previous years we will be promoting our product at the Ironman expo in Mallorca over the weekend of the 9th/10th October. Mallorca is the biggest Ironman 70.3 event in the World with up to 4000 athletes taking part and we hope to see you on the beach for the swim start on Sunday.

The two big events slightly further afield are the 70.3 World Championships in Utah in September and the Ironman World Championships in Kona in October. 🤞for those of you who have an entry for these prestige triathlons.

For those of you that want to make up for the lost cycling opportunities in 2020, and are planning a November or December getaway then we are always open for business 24×7.

Have a great year. 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️😷
